Meet the Mentors

Dean Sutera- Garden Coordinator

Judy Sutera- Mentor

Joe Aalbue- Mentor

Joe Aalbue, retired, fast approaching 70y.o., raises food (vegetables and fruit) on acreage near Salmon Creek.  He sees gardening as stewardship and locally grown food as a great gift.  He likes to grow unusual food and introduce it to people by cooking soups.
Contact him at jaalbue@chinaconnectonline.org.  Being Luddites, we only have a landline and answering machine so e-mail works best.  I enjoy learning about gardening and sharing what I know and what I grow.

Eve Hanlin- Mentor

Hello everyone! I’m a senior in High School, and I love vegetable gardening. I can talk about it for hours, which is why I decided to become a Mentor.
My family and I live on a small homestead in northeast Battle Ground, where we raise pigs and chickens. I'm the official vegetable gardener, and my summer job is to grow and preserve as much as I can. I’m so happy to be a part of Bethel Community Garden!
